Just the other day the UFC merged with WEC. Now they've bought Strikeforce. With the acquisition of Strikeforce they're basically the only big time organization. There really is no one left to challenge the UFC. Strikeforce Scott Coker the CEO of Strikeforce will still handle the day-to-day operations. All previous contracts will be honored by the UFC.
Seems until all the contracts run out, be it with the fighters and Showtime there wont be any major changes. There doesn't seem to be any other organizations for the UFC to buy up. WEC and Strikeforce were the biggest competitors, the rest are just small organizations. Until then the UFC will probably develop its roster of fighters and put on more events. There only seems to be more exciting match-ups in the future. This should lead to more profit, better contracts and big gain in popularity.
