Great news to my ears when I heard a sequel to Hajime no Ippo: New Challenger was being planned. The show just has such a great plot, which can be serious at time and throws in just enough humor to lighten the mood. For those of you who don't know this show its basically a boxer anime. The main character Makunouchi Ippo is molded after Mike Tyson. Since we all know about Iron Mike if your interested in a japanese twist of his life check this show out. The moves are all based on reality with just a bit of exaggeration sometimes to make it more interesting. Overall this show gets a 9/10 from me, since nothing is ever perfect.

Woman’s Body Is Found in Suitcase
http://cityroom.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/12/22/womans-body-is-found-in-suitcase/?ref=nyregion
This is kind of crazy but now in this day and age things like this are expected. For some reason someone went through the trouble of chopping a lady up and placing her body in a suitcase. Then having it brought to the middle of the street to later be found. Clearly this person wanted to send a message. But the question is to who and why?
There are a few reasons why this story is in the news. One being so that family members can go see if that lady is related to them if a female has went missing recently. Secondly its not everyday that you find a suitcase on the street with a body in it. Third it reinforces the suggestion by officers to report suspicious baggage.

Long Island Killer part 3
From looking at my previous posts you will find a couple articles on the Long Island Serial Killer. They all are basically reporting the samething. With their own little twist on it, mainly found in the details such as quotes. The facts between them are mainly the same. The reason this case keeps being reported is because of possible cases it ties into. One of those cases being the missing woman case of Shannan Gilbert. Which was found to not be among the four bodies found at the scene.
Long Island Serial Killer part 2
http://www.nytimes.com/2010/12/16/nyregion/16bodies.html?scp=1&sq=long%20island%20killer&st=cse
This article goes into the mind of a serial killer alittle bit. It describes the clues investigators use to link the remains of victims to a certain serial killer. The identities of the victims aren't known, their cause of death is also unknown. This article goes deep into details of things that are known to balance out with the areas they aren't so knowledgeable about.
http://www.nytimes.com/2010/12/17/nyregion/17bodies.html?scp=5&sq=long%20island%20killer&st=cse
The article covers the case of a missing woman Shannan Gilbert age 24. Medical examiners compared the four bodies found near the beach on Long Island and concluded that the DNA didn't match of Shannan. This is news since some people might of thought that Shannan could of been among the bodies found that day. It also brings back attention to the fact that she is still missing and that people should look for her. Since there wasn't a match the Gilbert family still has hope that Shannan is out there somewhere.

Long Island Serial Killer
http://www.nypost.com/p/news/local/craigslist_murder_rampage_Zkktd4Se9WQoznhlUq4SzN/1
The point of view shown is more that of the victims' families. It shows how police did ignored previous information which could of stopped a death and caught the murder. The author uses a view quotes rather than just state his opinion on the topic. It can be seen that the audience its geared towards are women, warning them to watch out for this killer.
http://www.nytimes.com/2010/12/15/nyregion/15bodies.html
This article goes deeper than the previous one. Bringing up an Altantic City case 4 years ago and labeling Terry Oleson as possibly being a suspect, even though his lawyer says that he has no connection to this case. The way this is written, not too many statements are made by the author, but more like suggestions of a couple possibilites. When you read this your left to make your own opinion instead of just reading the author's opinion.

Taxi Man Racial Profiling

After a taxi man was killed by an hispanic gunman,
Fernando Mateo, president of the New York State Federation of Taxi Drivers suggested that drivers should racial profile passengers, before picking them up. He narrowed down the racial profiling to blacks and hispanics. His reasoning being that they are the ones who commit the most crime. The article is directed mainly to taxi drivers and the general audience telling them to racial profile people. This article only helps to reinforce negative sterotypes of racial groups.

Big Appliances Set Out as Trash Are Vanishing, Puzzling the City
http://www.nytimes.com/2010/12/15/nyregion/15fridge.html?ref=nyregion
At first I thought it was quite funny what people in this article were doing. After reading a bit more in the article, they showed just how bad are economy is. People are looking for any sort of way to make money. Alot more people are recycling cans and bottles for money. It's almost like everyone is a hobo in the sense that everything is now looked at as a means of income. Hopefully in less than a decade things get better and we don't have to worry so much and scrounge for stuff.

Report Card Day
Some people dread this day when they finally have to face the facts and see what their true grade is. Depedening on how bad it is they might not show their parents and wait until the next one comes out. Since its friday this also a natural skip day. Short post for today, since mind isn't completely there. On that note, everyone enjoy your weekend.

Dehydration
Alot of people think that they're hydrated because they drink coffe and sugary drinks. Truth be told those liquids dont hydrate you properly. Most people find out that they're dehyrdated when they start exercising or the temperature starts to inrease. Here are some symptoms of dehydration
dry mouth,
the eyes stop making tears,
sweating may stop,
muscle cramps,
nausea and vomiting,
heart palpitations, and
lightheadedness (especially when standing).
The best things to rehydrate you are water and sport drinks. Reason for sport drinks is that they have electrolytes which your body needs. An electroltye imbalance can cause symptoons similar to dehydration

Teenagers being unfit
Now a days teens just dont exercise as much. When we were little kids we used to run around all day long, playing all sorts of games. We've now taken up a sedentary lifestyle, where all we is sit around all day watching TV and being on the computer. This lack of exercise has now led to childhood obesity. Teens weighing up into the 200lb's is just unhealthy and not pleasing to the eye.
This can all be solved simply by exercising a bit, be on a sport team or at your house. Nutrition and exercise together can help kids shed the pounds. Less weight makes them more productive since the body doesn't have to lug around excess weight all day, tiring it out. My advice is teens should try to run at least 15mins a day or come up with their own exercise program if they don't like running.

Sleep Deprivation
A lack of sleep seems to affect people of all ages. Teenagers and adults seem to get it the worst. Teens usually stay up late doing any range of activites from talking on the phone to partying into the morning. Adults usually on the other hand have a load of work to do that they need to pull over-time to get it completed. There's a cycle, lack of sleep causes stress and stress causes problems when it comes to falling asleep at night. Electronics from TVs to cellphones are an obstacle when trying to sleep, since there might be a show you really want to see or someone calling you with a problem they need your help with. Everyone needs to try and find ways so that they can get 7-8 hours of sleep. If not 7-8 hours straight, they should make an attempt to get some naps inbetween their work to keep them fresh.

UFC Saturday Past
The UFC judges have cheated another asian from a victory. Last time it was Chan Sung "The Korean Zombie" Jung vs Leonard Garcia. Garcia won by split decision after 3 rounds of slugging it out with The Korean Zombie. This time it was Nam Phan vs Leonard Garcia. Nam was semi-finalist in The Ultimate Fighter season 12 (TUF). He had lost his last match and now had a chance to fight in the UFC. After clearly showing superior striking to Garcia who ended up gasing the judges gave it away to Garcia. The crowd boo-ed and even Garcia himself admitted that Nam had won, saying that he would give him a rematch if asked. Even annoucer Joe Rogan called the judges out on this blunder. The UFC need to get themselves new judges, since they're robbing people of their wins and messing up their record.

1st Friday of December
Supposed to be a cold day, seeing some people break out their scarfs and leather jackets. Soon snow will start pouring down on us, and winter will really start. Junior year now, so people have to start getting serious about their work with the 2nd marking period ending. Once all these tests are over its smooth sailing unto the end graduation. All the stress will be over and we just have to maintain a good avg for the rest of our time in Van.

December 2nd, Scanning
A couple people got their phone taken away today. There's a confusion about when they will get their phone back. Some people say monday and others say after Christmas. If its Christmas I feel sorry for those people. There's suppose to be scanning tomorrow, so a heads up to all of you. Thanksgiving is like Christmas Eve, as soon as its over we're straight off to the Christmas celebrations.

December 1st
Half way through the week and its a rainy day. Seems after Thanksgiving the temperatures start to drop. Wondering how much longer there is until it starts to snow. The school is going to be blasting with heat, and outside will be cold as usual....The rate of kids coming to school and skipping usually go down, but then everyone just starts to stay home. Wouldn't mind skipping over the winter and going to spring, but everyone loves Christmas time and winter break.

Last Day of November
So far this week is fun, lunch was a bunch of jokes and everyone just enjoyed each other's company. Time to build up the montemum and keep going. Wonder how long I can make it last for. Hopefully for at least a month straight, before something messes with my mood.

29th Day after Thanksgiving week
I'm back in school again, usually Mondays are boring but I decided to make it alittle fun. Plan on joining the track team with 2 of my friends. Should be good conditioning to get my stamina up and hopefully I can start up Muay Thai again. Either way this week should be alittle interesting.

Day before Thanksgiving
November seems alittle like fight month. People getting into conflicts and a kid getting jumped by like 5 people last night. That's sad that 5 people are needed to take on one person. The guy who has a problem with him should just have a 1 on 1 and call it a day. But they don't want to get hurt or even worse lose and hurt their ego's so they jump people.
